We were here early on a Friday night, about 6 p.m. so the place wasn't busy yet. We sat in the dining room & there was just one other couple there dining at the time. Our server was Shari, who was so much fun! Dining in a mostly empty dining room can be dull but she livened up the place with her personality & enthusiasm. We decided to just share a few appetizers and have some margaritas. The margaritas were on special & they were just the right amount of potent. We shared the Conch Fritters (tasty fritters, but the dip it came with seemed like it was just mayo, no other flavors detected), the Coconut Shrimp (big & perfect, with a sweet coconut dip) & the Grouper Bites (delicious, cornmeal breaded, with tartar sauce). The place is huge so I'm sure they pack in some crowds later in the evenings on the weekends. The decor is all island-themed with Buffet playing on the stereo. They also have a big outdoor patio area & a sand volleyball court.

Wish I would have read some of the reviews prior to eating here....We were the only table in the restaurant, and service was horrible...Orders came incorrectly prepared, wrong orders, and even the drinks took forever...The waitress had no knowledge of the menu, drinks....I even asked her if she just started here, at which time she replied she had worked there for awhile....Food and drinks were average at best, both lacking in flavor...The manager/owner came over at the end of the meal, and when we explained how poor the service was, simply made excuses rather than a nice genuine apology...After paying for that meal, you simply feel like you have been had.

We stopped by for a drink and appetizer. We liked the ambiance and service was friendly and fast. We decided on the conch fritters. We have a vacation home near key west and have often had conch fritters in the Keys. We were very surprised to find that these were the best we've had. The breading was light and perfectly cooked. There were large bits of conch in the fritter instead of massive amounts of breading which is often the case with fritters. We were impressed with this item as well as the service. We will be back to try more menu items when the weather is nice so we can also enjoy the tiki bar outside.

Thought it was Hemingways based on Earnst not jimmy buffet My food was cold. I order a pulled pork sandwich that did not have any sauce and was dry as the Mojavi

I was so excited to come here after reading about it online. What a disappointment!!! First, it looked like Jimmy Buffet had one too many margarita's and puked all over the place. I mean, I love Carribean beach kitch but this was just over-done. Our waitress had the personality of a plate and was more annoyed with us that we were there. Mind you, we were the ONLY customers there. Otherwise the place was empty. The food portions were small for the price and the drinks were so overpriced I deeply regretted having that margarita when the check came. I left so disappointed and my wallet about $45 lighter (for two people). Next time I'm in the area I'll be sure to explore more of Lake Geneva's nautical restaurants and have my key lime pie in FL.

Let me start by saying that our server Sherri was friendly, and very pleasant. There were four of us, and three of us ordered the fish fry, and one ordered the walleye. We all ordered the potato pancakes, which I thought were very good, and we asked for sour cream. Our fish fry was $11.95, and when the bill came our meals were $13.45. When I asked Sherri why the price difference, she said there was a $1.50 charge for the sour cream, and she was sorry she should have told us when we requested the sour cream. Really, a charge for maybe, a tablespoon of sour cream! I have always asked for sour cream at every restaurant that served potato pancakes, and NEVER been charged. Because of this ridiculous charge, I won't be returning to Hemingway's, nor will I recommend it it to anyone. Just because you are in Lake Geneva, doesn't mean you treat customers badly.

I've been here a couple times before for live music and the entertainment always delivers...meagan phlueger came home with her band from Nashville and they definitely rocked this joint...atmosphere is a jimmy buffet explosion but I guess that is the shtick...dance floor is crowded but not a terrible problem to have...lighting is cool..acoustics were decent..there was a small bonfire going on outside that was a nice touch...my only negative experience was the service..or lack there of...2 bartenders with no personality seemed bothered and meagan asked for drinks for her band twice before getting them herself mic in hand belting out 4nonblondes...rockstar move indeed..i only go there for special events which is a shame considering this place could really be something more

It started bad. Warm beer with attempted remedy of going to get me a frosted glass. It did not work, i wound up drinking a diet coke. Clam Chowder tasted out of a can and it was not even hot. Pulled pork tasted old and Ribs were beyond horrible and the other two entrees were edible. Very nice waitress. Horrible dinner and first and last time coming here. I should have known when the beer was warm. What place every has warm beer?

Good food. The portion is a bit small. bit overpriced. good margaritas. wont' come here again. wings portion is small but yummy. nachos is good but small and a little cold.

Enjoyed the fresh air patio with Jambalya and Pineapple chicken. Great tropical vibe with the decor, margaritas and, of course, Jimmy Buffett. We'll be back!

Went here a year or so ago for dinner and really enjoyed the food and had great service in the dining room. Stopped in again and the food was pretty gross and service was nonexistent at the bar as the dining room was closed. Pretty sad I guess if I were to try it again I would call to make sure the dining room is open.
